The highest rank a Waterfowl Monk can attain is that of Ocean Master, symbolized by their dark blue robe. Achieving this rank grants them significant authority within the order: they are permitted to recruit new members, establish new temples, or assume leadership of an existing temple where no master is present or where the previous master is retiring. They are also officially empowered to promote students to the rank of full-fledged Waterfowl Monks, as well as to discipline or even expel individuals who break the temple's rules.
However, only the founder of the Waterfowl Monks can appoint a monk to the rank of Ocean Master, making this promotion rare and incredibly challenging. Beyond mastering water magic to an exceptional degree, a monk must accomplish great deeds within the order, acts worthy enough to capture the founder’s attention and earn such an honor.
Ocean Masters are said to be on par with some of the most powerful Amarians in their command of water magic, earning them deep respect and trust from the Amarian people. This mutual admiration has helped strengthen the long-standing good relations between the Waterfowl Monks and the Amarians, who recognize the Ocean Masters as allies of formidable skill and unwavering dedication.
