A Magic Crystal extracted from the Cave of the Dark Deep, this rare and dangerous artifact grows stronger in cursed mana the closer it is found to the gaping hole at the cave’s center. Possessing immense power, these crystals contain the cursed mana of the God of the Deep—a concentration so potent it is said to equal the energy released from hundreds of sacrificial rituals.

Only a few of these staves and crystals exist, most of which are under the tight control of the Magic Council and the Writers. However, some have slipped into the hands of less scrupulous groups or individuals, who may lack the skill or caution to handle them safely—or, worse, have intentions to wield their dark power for evil.

The process that imbued these crystals with cursed mana appears to have taken centuries. Newly placed crystals within the cave show only faint signs of corruption, even after 35 years, suggesting that the terrifying energy within these artifacts is a slow and ancient accumulation.
