The Black Flames were long thought to be extinct, with only rare instances where pyromancers and sorcerers stumbled upon them—usually by pure chance or accident. However, two centuries before the rise of the New Holy Church, a ruthless warrior and pyromancer named Karthonakt succeeded in harnessing the essence of the Black Flame. He wielded it with such force on the battlefield that his iconic mask, Naginata, and Black Flames became both feared and revered across the lands of Bruhm, marking the return and rise of the Black Flames.
After his death at the hands of Shiro, the Founder of the Order of the White Sun, this warrior ascended to godhood, becoming the New God of the Black Flames. Today, he is worshipped by pyromancers and warriors across Bruhm, empowering both their ordinary flames and the elusive Black Flames.
